Two words: Three. Generations. Probably the single most biggest reason why I do what I do. I don't create memories - you guys do that. I don't even tell stories - you guys do that too. Instead, I am a spectator to one of life's most amazing stories and I get to watch it unfold for an hour or so. That story looks different for everyone but it always has the same title: Family.
When Alexandra contacted me regarding a family session I knew in an instant that I wanted to work with her. Her father was visiting in Canada for the summer and was scheduled to head back home in a few days. Her four year old son had developed a special bond with his grandfather and Alexandra wanted to capture that. I read over her client & session questionnaire and the line that stuck in my throat was simply "he marvels at everything he does." Here was a grandfather soaking up as much time as he could with this little human being - a busy, adventurous, curious and fun-loving little boy with the most contagious laughter I have ever had the privy of listening too. Here was a mother revelling in the moments she got to share with two of her most favourite people. A mother whose heart could've burst with pride watching her boy learn from his grandfather. And here was a boy, spending a summer with his grandfather from a world away and not fully understanding everything, but loving every minute of it just the same. ...And then there was me. A girl with a camera and an hour at the park... watching it all unfold. These are the moments! <3 <3 <3
